Trapping hands is a very misunderstood area of training in Jeet Kune Do. It is so important, however, that Bruce Lee named one of his Five Ways of Attack based on trapping skills. Hand Immobilization Attack (HIA) is often discarded by certain Jeet Kune Do practitioners. I will openly state here that it is just stupid to do so, as you are just throwing away one of the most effective tools that you can have in you arsenal. Trapping, or immobilizing the opponent’s limbs, enables you to completely shut an opponent down and strike them at will, completely disrupting their structure in the process. Why would anyone not want to have this ability? In this volume, you will learn the basic trapping movements and the importance of good body structure when trapping. The drills will open new doors for you, helping you to not only see and feel why this is so effective, but also to understand more about the energy/sensitivity drills, and why they are so important to you. You will see this later as well, when you get into working with the mook jong (wooden man dummy). This volume builds the foundation for what you will learn in the next volume.

This instructional video series on Bruce Lee’s Original Jeet Kune Do was in the making over a long period of time. My goal was to present the most in-depth and complete guide to training in Bruce Lee’s fighting methods ever completed. What resulted was this twenty volume set. It was originally filmed on VHS, then later converted to DVD when VHS suddenly found itself outdated. What will never become outdated, however, is the material shown and taught on these videos. The material taught and demonstrated on these videos comes from all three of Bruce Lee’s major schools in the United States (Seattle, Oakland and L.A. Chinatown). It is by far the most complete presentation of this material, and will probably remain so for all of time! It represents my life’s work in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Jeet Kune Do, and will stand for all of time as my body of work to preserve Bruce Lee’s original teaching, training and fighting methods.
