Woody Mann – The Guitar of Big Bill Broonzy
“Big Bill Broonzy’s recording career spanned from 1927 until his death in 1958. His repertoire was well recorded, from solos and duets to ensemble playing. He was rediscovered just as the ‘folk-revival’ began in the early 1950s. Broonzy was a master of ragtime and country blues guitar whose playing was highlighted by a strong pulsating bass and melodic lead lines. In this video lesson, Woody Mann carefully analyzes Big Bill’s technique and style. Includes rare footage of Broonzy from the 1950’s. Selections include: Moppers Blues; Pig Meat Strut; Long Tall Mama; Saturday Night Rub; Brownskin Shuffle; How You Want It Done; Mississippi River Blues; Worrying You Off My Mind; and Hey, Hey. A 44 page tab/music booklet is included. DVD is region 0, playable worldwide.
