ABOUT THE ACTOR

Gholar entered MMA with one of the most impressive backgrounds in wrestling ever to enter the cage, including two-time U.S.A. Greco-Roman Nationals champion at 180.5 (1986 & 1988) and coaching the awesome University of Minnesota team. After training with and fighting against some of the best competitors in the sport, Gholar turned his attention to coaching MMA fighters.

His success in the US led to an offer to train Vitor Belfort in the cradle of MMA, Brazil. Teaching at Royler Gracie’s Humaita academy and Carlinhos Gracie’s Barra academy, Gholar success as a coach quickly became apparent not just in MMA, but also in BJJ tournaments. Gholar’s capabilities as a trainer are such that he influenced not just the takedowns of the champions he was helping, but their Guard sweeps as well.

When perhaps the greatest team in MMA, Brazil Top Team, offered Gholar the position as wrestling coach, he jumped at it, and for years worked with the sport’s leading lights, including Ze Mario Sperry, Murilo Bustamante, and Ricardo Arona.

A man of diverse talents, Gholar was a Walt Disney Pictures Fellowship recipient, whereupon he wrote and optioned two scripts. Thus, although he was recently burdened by medical problems brought on by decades of contact sports, there is every indication that he will continue to rise from success to success!
