Lesson Description:

Many people have trouble understanding how to work Chi Sao, they are not sure if they have to train with pressure, or whether to train lightly obtaining highly reactive reactions. The answer is quite simple, train both!!!

Sifu Fernandez goes into great detail explaining the benefits of both types of training and how it benefited him in his security work. He shows the advantages and disadvantages of training only one method and why it is of benefit to train both.

This lesson also explains why certain lineages differ from one to another, but it also shows how to train them both and why they are of utmost importance not to neglect one or the other.

There are times when you need to work with pressure and learn how to use your whole body to obtain results and then other times where the ranges will permit quick lightning reflexes which will take your opponent by surprise closing the distance on him before he knows what happened – a very important lesson to be trained.

The important point in this lesson is that you should be well on the path of being able to counter and divert almost any sort of attack. It should also teach that you are now free from being bound by fixed positions and giving you a global approach in applying Wing Chun in combat.
